Enthusiastically embraced as a local gem by the Tri-Valley area community, Casa Orozco is regularly and proudly hailed as a “Reader’s Choice” winner for ‘Best Mexican Food’, ‘Best Margarita’, ‘Best Appetizer’, and ‘Best Entrée,’ and has received multiple nods from Diablo Magazine‘s ‘Best of the East Bay’ readers’ polls. This family-owned restaurant makes a “very thorough and conscious effort” to purchase the vast majority of its goods and services from local suppliers, usually within a 10-mile radius of its locations, supporting their local workforce and keeping the vast majority of its gross sales right there in its community “with our friends and neighbors.”

“An ambitious emporium offers next-level Chinese dishes and goods. China Live is a multistory culinary wonderland with a fine dining restaurant, ‘Bladerunner’-esque cocktail bar, a retail section and a 120-seat, high-ceilinged casual eatery featuring different styles of cooking. Of course, you can’t just go in and gawk anymore. But in the pandemic age, China Live has maintained its multifaceted spirit, with a robust online retail store stocked with titanium woks and jars of XO sauce as well as its more popular dishes.” San Francisco Chronicle (12.16.20)

Another offering in the impressive China Live emporium lineup, Cold Drinks Bar is currently closed to in-person traffic due to the pandemic but does offer cocktail kits you can order online. Here’s what you have to look forward to when things open back up: “It’s a pseudo-secret, just above the bustling scene at China Live, accessible via stairwell; black bats painted on the walls lead the way to the door.
